The Other Day

Bat In The Hat

Warm up on the bike
Break a sweat if you may,
It's the very first part of
A GoWags training day.

Cause you have to work hard
if you want to improve,
If you want to get better
Make these heavy things move.

You should battle the weights
If you want to swing hard.
For rotational power
Takes the ball out 'tha yard.

'Cause all we want to do is just
Hit
Hit
Hit
Hit

Does that bring much improvement?
Even one little bit?

And then someone came,
Tanner Z. was his name.

He came,
He stepped in with a glove and a bat.
He came,
Swinging softly, so we videoed that.
And he said,
"Can I get a G.W. hat?"

"We can get him a hat,"
said Wags One to Wags Two.
Hats won't make you a hitter,
But these are sharp-it's true.
So we'll get one for you - once your lesson is through.

And we'll consult Gorinski,
For intelligent training.
And to check the guys over.
Tweak their form and their straining.
To make sure their joints aren't paining when it's raining.

Then comes Scaramuzzino,
With his game face in place.
Now he'll show you some batspeed,
If you just give him some space.

And then Ford, Drinks, and Custer.
Try GoWags for a spin.
Then the Solomon Brothers
And more athletes begin.

Whittington, Stough, Markley, Depew
And Michaela, our very own Cindy-Lou-Who.
She trained and her hitting strength suddenly grew.

Dunmire, Roblyer, Labecki, and more.
We honor - for sure.
GoWags pioneers on the floor.

Then Wags Two said "throw throw."
Throw that medicine ball.
Lift these big heavy things.
Till you can't lift at all.

Work that rotator cuff.
Work on heaps of leg power.
Find your abs and your grit
To your limits - devour.
Get'er done in an hour and then go hit the shower.

We can have lots of fun with your stats, I suppose.
We can measure your bat speed.
We can measure your throws.

We can track all the numbers,
of your lifts, hops, and jumps.
We can measure your posture,
Thus revealing who slumps.

We can measure your structure,
and your joint range of motion.
With these cool high-speed cameras.
See it all in slow motion.

Said Wags one, "look at this!"
"Check this out," said Wags one.
We ARE seeing improvements!
We ARE having some fun!

They are setting new limits.
They keep reaching sky high.
All this seems to be working.
All these numbers can't lie.

It's not just our opinion,
With a pat on the back.
They are helping themselves now.
They're not trying to slack.
They know it's their own self they have to attack.

That's the what's being taught here,
Through the game of baseball.
About life and the journey
That's the key to it all.

We're not promising Big Leagues,
Lots of glory or fame.
But being all that you can be.

'Cause it's NOT just a game.
